Thursday:
Picked up my convention registration and walked about the show floor and then attended the Star Trek, The Original Series: As You’ve Never Seen It panel which discussed the worldwide debut of Star Trek, The Original Series, fully remastered and on HD DVD, along with extras including never-before-seen, behind-the-scenes 8mm footage. Panelists included Rod Roddenberry, Billy Blackburn (Star Trek, The Original Series extra-extraordinaire), Ryan Adams and David Grant (CBS DVD). and Cory Watson and Jason Hillhouse (New Wave) .

Then we attempted to attend unsuccessfully to attend additional panels to no avail due to crowds. Tried to see the Paramount Pictures panel in hall H which seats ~6500 people and couldn't get in so tried BBC America: Torchwood panel in another hall and couldn't get in and tried Lionsgate panel in H again and couldn't get in so walked around a bit and sat in on a bit of the Demons of Mercy: Marvel and Maxum Reinvent Storyline on the Xbox 360 panel of which Christopher Judge of Stargate SG-1 was a member.

I then went to the autograph area and met Mike Nelson of Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and he kindly autographed his latest DVD which I received last week. We then went back to the hotel and went to Old Town for dinner.

Friday:
Decided on a new tactic which involves picking a room and staying there as long as anything of interest was taking place there, I chose hall 20 which seats 4500 people and waited from when they let us in around 8 till when the first panel started at 12:15.

That panel was Stargate SG-1: The Movie where they showed footage from the new direct-to-video movie (from Fox Home Entertainment) followed by a Q&A session. Participants included SG-1 stars Ben Browder (as Cameron Mitchell), Amanda Tapping (as Samantha Carter), Christopher Judge (as Teal’c) and executive producer/director Robert Cooper. After that panel was the Stargate Atlantis panel had Amanda Tapping (Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter), David Hewlett (Dr. Rodney McKay), Joe Mallozzi (executive producer/writer), Nora O’Brien (VP, original programming, SCI FI), Charlie Cohen (senior executive VP, MGM Studios), and Robert Cooper, executive producer/writer. Both panels were moderated by Gary Jones (Chief Master Sergeant Walter Harriman, Stargate SG-1) and they showed a few scenes from next years season. The SCI_FI rep did not confirm or deny that they were beig renewed for another season which was interesting...

I got brave and opted to go to a different room to attend the Chuck Screening and Q&A and miraculously was able to make it in and saw a premiere screening of the pilot. Then a Q&A with Executive Producers Josh Schwartz (The O.C.) and McG (Supernatural), Co-Executive Producer Chris Fedak and cast members Zachary Levi (Less Than Perfect), Yvonne Strahovski (Gone), Joshua Gomez (Invasion) and Sarah Lancaster (Everwood) after a fan-premiere screening of the pilot moderated by Joe Adalian of Variety.

I then tested my luck again and changed rooms to attend the Eureka panel who's panelists were Colin Ferguson (Jack Carter), Salli Richardson (Allison Blake), Ed Quinn (Nathan Stark), Joe Morton (Henry Deacon), Jaime Paglia (co-creator and executive producer), and Tony Optican (VP, original programming, SCI FI).

After that was over and in the same room was the Babylon 5: The Lost Tale panel to promote the Babylon 5: The Lost Tales made-for-video movie. A few scenes were shown and a Q&A with writer/director/executive producer J. Michael Straczynski and members from the original cast, including Bruce Boxleitner (President John Sheridan), Tracy Scoggins (Captain Elizabeth Lochley), and Peter Woodward (Galen) as well as executive producer Douglas Netter and producer Samm Barnes.

After that concluded we went to dinner at Oggi's Pizza and brewing company and returned to the motel.

Saturday:
I continued with my new tactic and headed straight to hall 20 once we were let in, thankfully I only had to wait till 10:00 a.m. for the first panel which was the Bionic Woman: Exclusive Pilot Screening and Q&A with panelists series star and newcomer Michelle Ryan (EastEnders); executive producers David Eick (Battlestar Galactica), Glen Morgan (The X-Files), and Jason Smilovic (Lucky Number Slevin); co-stars Miguel Ferrer (Crossing Jordan) and Will Yun Lee (Witchblade); Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), who portrays Sarah Corvis.

Next was the TV Guide Hot List panel which had Panelists including Ira S. Behr (The 4400), Billy Campbell (The 4400), Matt Dallas (Kyle XY), Tim Kring (Heroes), Masi Oka (Heroes), Michelle Ryan (Bionic Woman), and Skeet Ulrich (Jericho) and TV Guide’s West Coast Bureau Chief Craig Tomashoff moderated.

Then the big draw for most of the people in the hall was the Heroes: Exclusive Volume II Clip and Q&A whose panelists were co-executive producer/comic book writer Jeph Loeb, with creator Tim Kring, comic book artist Tim Sale (Batman: The Long Halloween), and the entire cast—Jack Coleman (H.R.G.), Noah Gray-Cabey (Micah Sanders), Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman), Ali Larter (Niki Sanders), James Kyson Lee (Ando), Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura), Hayden Panettiere (Claire Bennet), Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli), Zachary Quinto (Sylar), Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder Suresh), Dania Ramirez (Maya), Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli) and Kevin Smith popped in after it was announced that he would be directing a episode of Heroes Origins.

I continued to stay in hall 20 and saw the Battlestar Galactica panel whose Panelists included Mary McDonnell (Laura Roslin), Katee Sackhoff (Kara “Starbuck” Thrace), Tricia Helfer (Number Six), Ronald D. Moore (executive producer), David Eick (executive producer), and Erik Storey (VP, original programming, SCI FI) and was moderated by Mark Bernardin of Entertainment Weekly magazine.

My last panel in the hall was Futurama Matt Groening (creator) and executive producer David X. Cohen were on the dais, accompanied by writer Ken Keeler, animation directors Peter Avanzino and Dwayne Carey- Hill, and for the first time together on stage, actors Billy West (Fry), Katey Sagal (Leela), John DiMaggio (Bender), and Maurice LaMarche (Kif Kroker)! They took questions and presented a sneak peek at Bender’s Big Score! and did a reading from a comic that was handed out to the audience. The session was moderated by Bill Morrison.

I then tested my luck for a second day and changed rooms to catch the tale end of
Two Rays: Bradbury and Harryhausen which was a discussion amongst Author Ray Bradbury, filmmaker Ray Harryhausen, Bradbury biographer Sam Weller and Harryhausen producer Arnold Kunert.

After that panel concluded the 3rd pilot screening I would see started. It was The Sarah Connor Chronicles Screening and Q&A with stars Lena Headey (300), Thomas Dekker (Heroes), Summer Glau (Firefly) and Richard T. Jones (Event Horizon), along with Executive Producer Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds), James Middleton of C-2 Pictures (producers of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) and pilot director David Nutter (The X-Files). The session will be moderated by Craig Tomashoff, West Coast Bureau Chief of TV Guide.

We then left for the day and had dinner at Georgia's Greek Cuisine.

Sunday after checking out of the hotel I spent several hours on the show floor (first time I had been there since Thursday).

I then caught about half of The 4400 panel where they had a sneak peek of upcoming scenes and a Q&A panel discussion led by TV Guide West Coast Editor Craig Tomashoff with series stars Megalyn Echikunwoke (Isabelle Tyler), Conchita Campbell (Maia Skouris), Jenni Baird (Megan Doyle), Jeffrey Combs (Dr. Kevin Burkhoff) and executive producer Ira Steven Behr (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and Supervising Producer Craig Sweeny (Medium).

After that was the Jericho panel where footage from the second season, exclusive clips and outtakes from Season 1 and extras from the DVD out in October were shown and then a panel discussion with series stars Skeet Ulrich (Scream), Lennie James (Sahara), Ashley Scott (Dark Angel), executive producer Carol Barbee (Judging Amy), co-executive producers Karim Zreik and Dan Shotz, and producer Jon Steinberg.

I stayed for a bit of the SCI FI: Flash Gordon panel whose panelists included Eric Johnson (Flash), Gina Holden (Dale), Peter Hume (executive producer), and Mark Stern (executive VP, original programming, SCI FI).

Then I walked around the Comic-Con show floor for one last time before we all headed home.
